The Admiral Rodney Inn, in Hartshorne, is to be congratulated for their successful nomination to the finals of the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards 2024.
There were 1000 entries in total and only 33 of these were selected as finalists across five categories. There will be an event to announce the winners at the Houses of Parliament on 5 March.
PubAid runs a number of campaigns during the year, each focusing on a different aspect of the support pubs and pub companies offer their communities.
Heather says:
“I am over the moon that one of our great South Derbyshire Pubs has been successful in their nomination and all the credit must go to Kevin and Lesley for all the brilliant hard work they put in!
“The Admiral Rodney has had another remarkable year and this wonderful village pub has proven itself once again by being nominated for the final year’s community pub awards. It is not only well-known in the local area and beyond for its service of impeccable ales but most significantly for its work in fundraising for charity and good causes and its cultivation of a strong community spirit. It is the epicentre of the local community where everyone knows on arrival, they will receive a warm smile and always good company. The team work extremely hard to keep the community together, leaving no one behind, and their efforts in fundraising are a fantastic achievement.
“I am looking forward to welcoming Kevin and Lesley to Parliament and fingers crossed they win the big one!"
