In line with national guidelines, dentists in South Derbyshire are currently closed for routine appointments, however help is still available if you need urgent treatment. If you have a dental problem it is advised that you don’t visit the dentists but phone your local practice, they are available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am- 5pm. Outside of these times it is advised that you contact NHS 111.
Due to social distancing measures, alternatives such as telephone and video links are available instead, they are able to prescribe painkillers and anti-biotics of needed and if it is urgent you will be referred and seen. Please do not visit A&E or GP’s for dental care.
Across Derbyshire there are currently 5 urgent dental care centres in Chesterfield, Swadlincote, Buxton, Derby City, and Matlock. These are only available to those without any Coronavirus symptoms, a separate site is available to those who have symptoms.
I would like to remind people, if you need an appointment please do not visit your dentist, GP, A&E or walk in centres but instead please call your local surgery who will provide you with advice and guidance.
