Local South Derbyshire MP, Heather Wheeler, invited Secretary of State, Greg Clark, to officially open ATL’s £12.825 million state of the art warehouse and office development on Thursday 6th September 2018.
ATL, a long standing family run logistics business based in Foston, realised their proximity to the A50 gave them an amazing opportunity to expand their business. The building of the 190,000 square feet development was a speculative venture and their marketing of it bore immediate fruit with the majority of space already taken up by local firms both big and small. The company have also invested in technology to ensure their systems and processes supports the needs of their customers who range from sole traders to International PLCs.
The company considers its most important investment is in its staff who are trained to provide bespoke solutions.
By making these investments, ATL has combined the ethics and personal controls of a family business with the capacity and capabilities of much larger logistics providers to ensure a friendly but totally professional quality service for its customers.
Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, officially opened the facility and was able to see for himself yet another successful South Derbyshire business. He heard the management team announce that far from resting on their laurels they were already looking at further expansion.
Heather said:
“ATL have done an amazing job bringing together a professional team to deliver an outstanding facility. All of the groundwork they did meant the development was started and completed in just nine months. This family run firm have increased their turnover significantly and taken on a further 40 employees. I am delighted with their success and look forward to the next stage in this great company’s journey.”
