Heather addressed students at the University of Nottingham. Mrs Wheeler MP was invited as part of the University of Nottingham’s School of Politics series of talks by politicians over lunchtimes on Fridays.
Heather Wheeler MP said: “I am always very happy to speak to students both at our local universities as well as our college and schools in South Derbyshire. Students always have the most interesting questions and insights – and today’s questions were no different - particularly in the current situation the questions were extremely pertinent and well informed. I aways explain what got me in to politics and then more about the realities of the job. You never know I may just be encouraging a future Prime Minister or other equally important public servant such as a local councillor to start working.”
John Hess, Hon.Professor, School of Politics, University of Nottingham said: “The weekly talks give our students an invaluable opportunity to hear from and question politicians on some of the current and significant political events and developments of the last few years. We thank Heather joining us.”
