I have recently been in contact with local Derbyshire Youth Councillor for John Port School (JPS) in Etwall Thomas Ephgrave. He in his capacity of representing and working hard for the students at JPS, as well as the whole of Derbyshire, has identified transport as a key local issue.
In particular the ‘Villager’ bus, which connects the villages of South Derbyshire. Thomas has been in discussions with Trent Barton who operate the service about increasing the amount of buses. As a result of this meeting Thomas is conducting a survey of local people in order to show Trent Barton proof that the business is there to make increased services available.
I fully support Thomas’ work, transport in South Derbyshire is important for all of us, especially the young and the elderly who rely more on public transport services.
I would implore everyone to take a few minutes to take the survey and help highlight to Trent Barton what more can be done for the local area. Please find the link below.
