I recently had the pleasure of visiting Swadlincote Windows, a company I have seen grow and grow over the years. They specialises in the manufacture and fitting of windows, doors and conservatories. Their success is down to good customer service, great prices and quality workmanship. Seeing them expand and particularly into Local Authority work is great for our area and their increasing workforce. It was a pleasure to open their new factory.
The visit was to tour and officially open their new 18,500 square foot site in Boardman Industrial Estate, manufacture and fitting of windows, doors and Swadlincote following funding from Barclays. The company, which was established in 1998, supplies double glazed products to trade and retail customers and recently became involved in supplying products to local schools and colleges. The new premises will allow it to increase its range of UPVC products, designed to meet Residence 9 standards replicating timber products in heritage and conservation areas. It is owned by three Directors who are Swadlincote born and bred.
Mick McGuinness, Director of the Swadlincote Window Company said: “We have seen an increase in orders with a lot of new business coming from local authorities. We identified the need to move to larger premises in order to fulfil our growing order book and we were delighted when these premises became available."
Funding for the new factory came from Barclays. Robert Barke, Senior Business Manager at Barclays in South Derbyshire said: “The Swadlincote Window Company is a great example of a business who has continued to look for new markets in order to expand the business. I am pleased that we have been able to provide the funding for the new site which supports the business’s strategic growth plan."
I look forward to seeing this expanding local business going from strength to strength and keep providing South Derbyshire with excellent job opportunities.
