Heather Wheeler MP was last week was delighted to open Positive ID Labelling Systems’, of Melbourne, new printing machine and facilities:
‘It was great being asked to officially open and cut the ribbon on the new digital printing press and laser finishing equipment here in Melbourne. The £330,000 machine is a great new tool, one of only two in the UK that will be used to enhance the business further. It’s always a pleasure to see small business’ in South Derbyshire grow, and invest in new tools and equipment for the future. PID Labelling are also setting a great example to other small businesses in Melbourne and across the constituency.'
‘The large investment by Positive ID is a sure sign of the company’s growth over the last 5 years. They have benefitted from government initiatives and schemes, such as the introduction of apprenticeships, something that has taken off not only in South Derbyshire but across the UK also. Positive ID has more than doubled their workface as well as increasing their sales in what is a competitive market.’

Heather opened the facilities with John Mayers, the Managing Director of PID Labelling, and Wendy Earp, Chair of Melbourne Parish Council.
Commenting on the investment, John Mayers said: “The Jetrion allows us to deliver high quality full colour labels to our customers in a fraction of the time of normal analogue/flexo print methods. We remain dedicated to investment in the business and improving lead times and quality for our customers and this machine is a step towards that goal.”
