In Parliament last week I attended a National House Building Council event to learn more about the excellent work Taylor Wimpey North Midlands are doing in South Derbyshire.
It is great news that a South Derbyshire development, out of 15,000 competing sites, has won the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Award. An award like this is a credit both to the management and planning team not to mention the workforce on the ground who have transformed an area that was locally known as ‘the dumps’ to a rejuvenated housing development for first time buyers and families alike. It really places South Derbyshire, and especially Woodville on the Map.
The Pride in the Job Award is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building and is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.
The work that the site manager, Adam Harrison, and his building team have put into the new Treetops development is worthy of such an award and it’s brilliant that his, and his team’s, hard work within South Derbyshire receives national recognition.
At the event the NHBC Director of Corporate Affairs, Lewis Sidnick said:
“NHBC is extremely proud of Pride in the Job. It rightly rewards the very best in the industry and the awards have played a huge role in driving up the quality of new build homes over the past 35 years. Importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home, benefit from a product of the highest quality.”
