It has approached the time of the year when, thanks to the rush that is Christmas, extreme pressure is placed upon Royal Mail to ensure that all our presents, postcards and Christmas cards are delivered effectively and in time for Christmas.
With this in mind I visited the Swadlincote Delivery office to pass on her Christmas greetings and best wishes to the Postmen and Women during this busy season.
There is a huge amount of effort and dedication that goes into delivering a first class Christmas at Royal Mail’s busiest time of year. It was great to meet the team here in Swadlincote and to get a behind the scenes look at how our post is delivered, there is so much that goes on and it is great to have such an important hub here in South Derbyshire.
Our postal workers do such an important job at this time of year and I would like to thank all the staff, in the sorting office, out there delivering on foot, in vans and on bikes, for their exemplary efforts and wish them all the best over this exceptionally busy, but important, festive period.
The last recommend posting dates for Christmas are:
- Second Class – Saturday 19 December 2015
- First Class – Monday 21 December 2015
- Special Delivery – Wednesday 23 December 2015
