A growing business based at Bretby Business Park, located between Swadlincote and Burton-upon-Trent, has received a visit from Heather Wheeler, the MP for South Derbyshire, to share news of their recent success.
The Pontoon & Dock Company which was established in 2009, is a highly specialised company supplying pontoons, floating docks and work platforms, boat lifts and hoists, yacht cranes and hoists for disabled sailors among many other products. The business offers products for both sale and hire and currently has installations as far afield as Guernsey and the very north of Scotland.
The enterprise has recently supplied a large pontoon to the Nottingham Mixed Relay Triathlon (covered by BBC 2) and is in the process of constructing pontoons for the Tall Ships Race in Sunderland and the water sculpture at the Great Exhibition of the North which runs from 22nd June-9th September 2018.
Heather made a visit to the company’s offices last week where she met with staff and was given more detailed information, particularly regarding the work being undertaken on the Tall Ships Race.
Commenting on her visit, Heather said:
“I am really proud to see such a fantastic South Derbyshire business doing so well.
Simon Nadin and his team have developed the company significantly over the last nine years and the fact that they are now supplying such large events like the Tall Ships Race in Sunderland is testament to this.
I wish the Pontoon & Dock Company every success for the future.”
Mr Simon Nadin, Director of the Pontoon & Dock Company Ltd added:
“It was a great pleasure to welcome Heather to our offices and all our staff were buoyed by her interest in their work.
The Pontoon and Dock Company are very proud of the service and ingenious solutions we have provided our customers over the last 9 years that have led to steady growth and a continual increase in the number of local staff we employ.
The Sunderland Tall Ships project is our biggest contract so far and we have worked hand in hand with our sister company, P&D Environmental Ltd, to provide a complete solution for all their on-the-water logistics.
As ever we continue to “Make it possible for People to Walk on Water”.
