This week we have seen a number of promising stories of a possible vaccine and today we have seen a record growth of 15.5% of the economy between July and September, showing a bounce back from recession. Furthermore I am also pleased the under the Kickstart Scheme, 19,672 jobs have been created for young people aged 16-24.
Now more than ever it is important to give young people hope and aspiration to succeed and pursue a career. The landmark Kickstart Scheme has created high quality, government subsidised jobs for young people across the UK, in various industries such as tech, communications, fitness, film and TV and the charity sector to name just a few.
The Scheme has also received 4,359 applications from employers with a wide range of jobs available with more applications from employers being accepted every week. It is welcoming to see high quality jobs being created for young people. It allows them to build on their skills and gain invaluable experience to progress and work their way up. In South Derbyshire there are a large number of young people who could greatly benefit from this scheme, giving them a potentially life-changing opportunity.
There are also some fantastic employers here in South Derbyshire offering young people opportunities. If you are an employer and would like to get involved in the scheme visit: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/kickstart-scheme#if-youre-creating-fewer-than-30-job-placements
